Paxos, the regulated blockchain infrastructure company, is adding XRP trading, custody and transfer support for its brokerage partners. The move means brokerage firms that use Paxos to power their crypto services can now offer their customers a fuller set of XRP capabilities in one place.
Three New Capabilities for XRP
The expansion covers three distinct functions. Trading lets brokerage customers buy and sell XRP. Custody means Paxos holds and secures XRP on behalf of those customers. Transfer support allows XRP to be moved between accounts or wallets within the supported workflow. For related coverage, see FNB Launches 24/7 Crypto Trading With VALR From R10.
Each of these is a separate service. Having all three available through the same provider matters because it removes the need for brokerages to piece together different vendors for different parts of the XRP experience. Paxos announced the update on its official news page. For related coverage, see Binance to End USDP Spot Trading on September 24.
How Brokerage Partners Fit In
Paxos operates as a behind-the-scenes infrastructure provider. Brokerages and financial apps build their crypto products on top of Paxos’s platform, and their end customers interact with those products without necessarily knowing Paxos is involved. This is sometimes called a business-to-business-to-consumer model. For related coverage, see SEC Has Two Commissioners: Quorum Rules Explained.
By adding XRP support at the infrastructure level, Paxos enables any brokerage partner using its platform to offer XRP services without building the trading, custody, or transfer systems themselves. That lowers the technical barrier for brokerages that want to add XRP to their offerings. As more institutional firms consider adding crypto custody, Washington’s ongoing process of selecting national crypto custody firms adds regulatory context to why custody infrastructure decisions matter right now. What This Means for XRP Access
For regular people who use brokerage apps, this kind of infrastructure update is what determines whether XRP shows up as an option at all. If a brokerage’s underlying provider does not support a given asset, that asset simply does not appear in the app.
Combining trading, custody and transfers within one supported workflow also means a smoother experience for the end user. They can buy XRP, have it held securely, and send it, all within the same platform, rather than moving between services. That kind of integrated access is what Paxos is now making available to its brokerage partners for XRP.
The announcement adds to a broader trend of regulated infrastructure providers expanding their supported asset lists. For anyone holding XRP or considering it, the practical takeaway is that more brokerage platforms may soon offer XRP natively as a result of infrastructure updates like this one.
